How It Works

What is SafeTbuild?

SafeTbuild is a milestone-based payment coordination platform for contractors and vendors. It lets customers fund project milestones upfront, review completed work, and release payments upon approval — all in one place.

Is SafeTbuild a licensed escrow service?

No. SafeTbuild is not a licensed escrow provider or money transmitter. It is a payment coordination platform that uses Stripe's regulated payment infrastructure to facilitate milestone-based payments. Actual legally-compliant escrow services may require a licensed escrow company or attorney depending on your jurisdiction.

How does the payment flow work?

1) Customer creates a project and adds milestones. 2) Customer funds a milestone via Stripe. 3) Vendor sees the milestone as funded and begins work. 4) Vendor uploads proof of completion (photos, notes). 5) Customer reviews and approves. 6) Funds are transferred to the vendor's Stripe account.

What happens if the vendor doesn't complete the work?

The customer can open a dispute on any milestone. Our admin team reviews evidence from both parties and can either release funds to the vendor, refund the customer, or facilitate another resolution.

Payments & Fees

How much does SafeTbuild cost?

SafeTbuild charges a 3% platform fee on each funded milestone. This fee is deducted at the time of funding. There are no monthly fees on the Starter plan.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

How quickly do vendors receive payment?

Once a milestone is approved, we initiate a transfer to the vendor's Stripe Connect account immediately. Funds typically arrive in the vendor's bank account within 2-5 business days, depending on Stripe's payout schedule.

Can I get a refund?

Funded milestone payments can be refunded via the dispute process if the vendor fails to complete the work or if both parties agree. Platform fees are non-refundable except in cases of platform error.

For Vendors

How do I receive payments?

You need to connect a Stripe Express account from your Settings > Payouts page. Stripe will verify your identity and banking information. Once active, you'll receive payments automatically when milestones are approved.

What do I need to submit for milestone approval?

You can upload photos, documents, and written notes as proof of work completion. We recommend clear photos showing the completed work and notes describing what was done.

What if the customer doesn't respond after I submit work?

Customers receive email and in-app notifications when you submit. If they're unresponsive, contact us at support@SafeTbuild.app and we can assist in reaching them.

For Customers

How do I invite a vendor?

When creating a project, enter the vendor's email address. They'll receive an invitation email. If they don't have a SafeTbuild account, they can create one through the invitation link.

Can I add more milestones after the project starts?

Yes, customers can add additional milestones at any time while the project is active.

What if the vendor does poor quality work?

You can open a dispute on any milestone. Do not approve a milestone if you're not satisfied. Once you approve and funds are released, reversing the transaction is much more difficult.
